Haugesund Hospital is a general public hospital, located in the city of Haugesund. It is a part of the teaching facility networkof Regional Health Authority of Western Norway. Our Department of Age-Related Medicine is organized as a separate unit within the medical clinic.  It contains three small wards with eight beds each and outpatient service for geriatric internal medicine, Old Age Psychiatrist/ Geriatric Psychiatry and short time observation for general internal medicine. The unit is approved for 9 months in the specialization program for general psychiatrists. As an Old Age Psychiatrist or as an geriatric psychiatrist, you must have a holistic perspective, and you will work closely
with other colleagues from other professions. We have our own Research group for Age-Related Medicine.

We are looking for a psychiatrist who has interests in professional development and teamwork. Doctors in their final years of their specialization are encouraged to apply!

What we expect from you

• The applicant must have Norwegian medical council authorization as a specialist in Psychiatry or resident in Psychiatry close to completing specialist training.
• An approved subspecialty in Old Age Psychiatry, or experience within Old Age Psychiatry, is desirable.
• The applicant must have relevant hospital work experience.
• You need to learn the Norwegian language both written and spoken at a high level (B2).
