Senior physician in endocrinology

Helse Fonna, Haugesund Hospital has a vacant permanent position of senior physician in endocrinology. If there are no applicants who are/can become a specialist in endocrinology, it may be appropriate to fill in for a senior physician in internal medicine. Haugesund Hospital has clinics for medicine (incl. children and newborns), surgery (incl. obstetrics/gynecology and fertility), psychiatry, and medical services (incl. emergency, radiology, clinical chemistry and pathology).

The medical clinic includes internal medicine with branch specialists in most areas as well as neurology, oncology, geriatrics , rehabilitation, a learning and a mastery center. The clinic is approved as an education department for internal medicine, kidney diseases, cardiology, lung diseases, gastroenterology, blood diseases, endocrinology and geriatrics. Within internal medicine, we have 16 doctors in specialization and 20 senior physician positions.

The subject area of ​​endocrinology is organized in Medicine department B, together with infection. The inpatient unit has eight beds for endocrinology and infection.
Endocrinologist participates in bedside service together with internal medicine/infectious disease doctor. The majority of patients admitted to the inpatient unit are patients with infections or general internal medicine. Endocrinological patients naturally belong in the bedside register, but the scope is smaller.

The main activity for endocrinology takes place at the medical outpatient clinic, in close and good cooperation with skilled diabetes nurses, for about three positions. There is a high level of activity in the outpatient clinic and a great focus on competence in technical equipment and patient training. In the outpatient clinic, in addition to diabetes patients, you meets a wide range of endocrinological problems. There is extensive cooperation with the gynecological department regarding diabetes in pregnancy. There are regular, multidisciplinary meetings with the Univesity hospitals, pituitary and adrenal issues.

• Clinical service at the bedside and in the outpatient clinic. 
• Participation in joint internal medicine senior duty, currently 15 shared, can be negotiated or individualized

Kvalifikasjonar

• We are looking for a senior doctor who is an approved specialist in internal medicine and endocrinology
• Norwegian authorisation as endocrinolog
• Doctors who are in training and can obtain such specialist approval are welcome to apply.
• You need to learn the Norwegian language both written and oral at a high level(B2).
