
Institute of Clinical Medicine at the University of Oslo has a vacant position as professor II/associate professor (20%) in obstetrics and gynecology. The part-time academic position is combined with a full-time (100 %) senior consultant position in obstetrics and gynecology at Akershus University Hospital, Division of Obstetrics and Gynecology

You are welcome to be a part of our research group and the clinical staff at the Division of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Akershus University Hospital.
Forty percent of the senior consultant position is expected to be used for research and teaching of medical students. The remaining time will be clinical work, including shift duty also during weekends.
The position requires solid knowledge and a strong interest in obstetrics, with the obstetric department as the primary workplace. Experience in obstetric research is an advantage.
Applicants should have a PhD and be specialist in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
The Division of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Akershus University Hospital serves a population of approximately 300 000 women, and 5000 births take place at our division yearly.
The applicant should be involved in research and interested in contributing to the stimulating academic environment at the Division of Obstetrics and Gynecology. We aim at high academic standards, and our research group have been rated as excellent/very good.
Presently, our research group includes 17 individuals, and they have basic education as medical doctors, midwives, physiotherapists or epidemiologists. Most of our researchers also work as clinicians.

Interpersonal skills and the ability to create an attractive research environment, plans for research and ambitions relating to the applicant's personal teaching practice will be emphasized. The successful applicant will participate in teaching of medical students at the University of Oslo. As a main rule, interviews will be held and references collected. Applicants may also be required to give a trial lecture.
